LUCY THE BEAGLE Please help us to help our mates: see below! A key member of our staff, Lucy joined the team in January 2004, at the ripe old age of 11 months after having had several homes and owners too busy with their own lives to give her the attention and spoiling that she now demands on a daily basis! Stubborn by nature and reputation, it is not by coincidence that most obedience schools make the Beagles stand at the far end of the class, but she makes us laugh constantly and is one of the better natural stress relievers that we have found so far. And yes, in case you are wondering, Lucy has her vitamins daily too, and does not have any food laced with preservatives or anything unnatural - truly the "Alternative Beagle!" Lucy enjoys long walks on the beach, swimming, "Tug O'War" with an old sock (she has a two sock a week habit!) candlelit dinners and spending time with friends. And now Lucy is a "Star" after appearing on Network Tens "Totally Wild", and Woman's Day (October 18, 2004). Remember the Beagle 2 Mars Lander (named after Darwin's Beagle)? It was to search for signs of Martian life and confirmation of a successful landing should have come on 25 December 2003. However, like a typical Beagle, it decided to do something else and wandered off into deep space - probably sniffing for food, and Beagle 2 was declared lost on 6 February 2004!

When boredom set in with no fun and no work, One day it broke loose and went quietly berserk. Pa couldn't fathom just why it went wild, As it flattened his wife and then bit his child.
