What is Clean Green™ Wheat & Barley Grass?

Clean Green™ Wheat Grass and Barley Grass Powders are wholesome green foods made from the powdered dehydrated leaves of organically grown* young wheat plants (triticum aestivum) and organically grown young Barley plants (hordeum vulgare).

Timing is Critical for Nutritional Value

Nor all Wheat and Barley Grass products are harvested at their nutritional peak. Since 1935 scientists have known that the highest concentrations of Beta Carotene, Chlorophyll, protein, enzymes and grass juice factors are present for just a few critical days. Our Wheat and Barley Grass are harvested at this critical time.

By the time the young sprout reaches its nutritional peak it is between 6 and 8 inches tall. It then forms a ‘joint’, which then goes on to form the stalk of grain.

Once the jointing has occurred the nutritional level of the grass drops dramatically as the nutrients are stored to be used in the growth and development of the head of grain.

At harvest, only the top 3 inches of the grass are harvested because this section has the highest content of the available nutrients. Harvest occurs just prior to jointing.

Clean Green™ Wheat and Barley Grass products are grown without the use of artificial fertilisers and pesticides.

As soon as the grass is harvested it is dried at body temperature to retain the nutrient value. Once dried the leaves are then crushed into a powder.

Suggested Serving
